Material

  • A small cylindrical foam block
  • 2 Yellow Light Emitting Diodes (LED)s
  • Battery Holder with 2 Pins
  • 3v Coin Cell Battery
  • Conductive Tape
  • Glue
  • 1 Black Pom Pom
  • 5 Tan Pom Pom
  • 2 White Pom Pom
  • 1 Piece of Light Brown Fur

Instruction

  • Take a small cylindrical foam block
  • Take the two legs of an LED and split them apart until the LED will sit flat on a foam block.
  • Orientate the LED leg so they run down the centre of curved side of the block
  • Repeat with a second LED. These will become the eyes
  • Wrap a piece of conductive tape over the top of one legs of each of the LEDs legs and take it half way around the block.
  • Wrap a second piece of conductive tape over the top of the second leg of the LED and around the back of the block but leave a 1cm gap to the other piece of tape
  • Insert the battery holder and battery with one pin in each of the pieces of tape.
  • Stick on the black pom-pom to create a nose
  • Stick on the tan pom-pom to create a forehead and cheeks
  • Stick on the white pom-pom to create the chin

Problem Solving

  • You can use pins to hold the fur in place while the glue dries
  • Make sure that the glue and fur are not making any gaps in the circuit
